Camp Types
Mainstream Camps
Mainstream Camps are the most widespread FAI Summer Soccer Schools with more than 250 taking place across the country in Summer 2011. They run from 10.30 to 15.00 Monday to Friday and like all camps are open to boys and girls aged 6yrs to 14yrs.
For the beginner, the Mainstream Camps are a great way to get started with football. These participants will learn the basic skills essential to the development of the young footballer. For more experienced players they are the perfect way to maximise their technical skills and improve their overall game. All participants will have fun, learn new skills, make friends and have a great week.
Goalkeeper Camps
2011 saw the FAI Summer Soccer Schools programme hosting 30 Goalkeeper Camps across the country. Goalkeeper Camps are open to girls and boys regardless of experience, size or technical ability. Never played in goal before? Why not give it a try, you could be the next Shay Given or Emma Byrne!
While technique is important for any goalkeeper, there is no substitute for playing and training in game type situations. We pride ourselves on the fact that our FAI accredited goalkeeper coaches know and understand the needs and requirements of the game and the goalkeeper.
The Goalkeeper Camps will focus on this key position on the field of play and will improve the confidence and skills of the participants through training drills and exercises designed solely for goalkeeping.
Our policy of 8:1 players to coach ratio on all our Goalkeeper Camps will ensure that everyone will get the attention they require to master their net-minding skills.

Goalkeeper Warm Up- Stretching and Flexibility for Goalkeepers
- Footwork
- Receiving Balls: Ground, Chest, Face, High Balls
- Diving
- Reaction Drills
- 1V1 on the Goalkeeper
- Distribution
- Outfield Player Skills
- Dealing with the Pass Back
- Saving Penalty Kicks
- Goalkeeper Wars
Goalkeeper Camps are extremely popular and fill up very quickly.
Girls Only Camps
In 2012 we will be offering the first ‘Girl’s Only’ camps. The camps will be open to girls aged between 6 and 14 years and will provide all the features of our mainstream camps plus girls will receive the exclusive new kit. This is a great opportunity for girls to come together and enjoy our top levels of coaching and activities that are designed specifically for girls.
